Gillian Anderson's passion for acting began in high school and followed her through college in Chicago. After receiving her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in theatre, Anderson performed in off-Broadway plays. Her debut role in Absent Friends (1991) earned her a Theatre World Award and, before long, she was off to Los Angeles for her film debut in The Turning (1992) and television debut in Class of '96 (1993).

In 1993, Anderson landed the role of Dana Scully in The X-Files. where she was teamed with David Duchovny (Fox Mulder). Her portrayal of logical and intellectual FBI agent Dana Scully has garned Anderson several awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe. In 1998, Anderson reprised the role for the big screen in the box office hit The X-Files: Fight the Future.

Anderson pursued her film career and took parts that would bring notice to her talent rather than her cult status that was already paved in television and film. In 1997...
