Nicole Kidman's Kevo

Born in Honolulu but raised in Sydney, Australia, Nicole Kidman has in a very short period become a major power broker in today�s Hollywood. Her marriage to star Tom ruise in 1990 may have helped, but soon Kidman decided to carve her own path and be known more for her talents than as Mrs. Tom Cruise.

Raised in an upper class politically active family, Nicole Kidman was exposed to the arts early on in her life. At age three she was studying ballet and by ten years of age she was acting in theater. WhenKidman was 17 she dropped out of high school to pursue acting and help care for her mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her mother recovered and Nicolo was already becoming a regular figure on Australian film and television. In 1989, she made the leap to Hollywood starring in director Philip Noyce�s thriller at sea Dead Calm. With this single performance Kidman created a buzz in the industry and was dubbed the next big thing.

Her next film Days of Thunder would forever change her life. Working opposite Tom Cruise the two fell instantly for each other and were married within a year, thus creating Hollywood�s ultimate power couple. She has since proved her mettle with strong performances in Malice, Batman Forever and the surprise hit To Die For. She and Cruise star in the highly anticipted erotic thriller Eyes Wide Shut, the last film directed by the late great Stanley Kubrick.
