Téa Leoni is an accomplished actress, both on television and film. Born in New York City, Leoni attended Sarah Lawrence College where she studied anthropology and psychology. She took some time off to travel-living in Tokyo, Italy, and St. Croix before moving to Boston to enroll at Harvard.

While she was living in Boston, a talent agency held a casting call for Aaron Spelling's Charlie's Angels spin-off Angels '88 at a local mall. A friend dared Leoni to audition; the dare changed her life forever. She landed a part in the sitcom and relocated to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, a writer's strike ended the series before it began, but she remained in Hollywood working as a model and making commercials. Within a year she received a recurring role on the NBC daytime drama Santa Barbara. She made her feature-film debut in the comedy Switch in 1991 and had supporting roles in A League of Their Own and Wyatt Earp.

Despite the abandoned Angels '88, Leoni finally appeared in a sitcom (Flying Blind, which ran for one season) and eventually starred in one (played tabloid paparazzo Nora Wilde on The Naked Truth). The first season of The Naked Truth, which began on ABC, was the setting of its own tabloid story. Recently removed from a bitter divorce, Leoni became involved with the married Chris Thompson, the show's creator and executive producer. By 1996, the sitcom switched networks and she and Thompson parted ways. The Naked Truth continued to run on NBC until 1998.

Leoni's film career expanded with a role in the Will Smith, Martin Lawrence action-comedy Bad Boys. She earned praise for her work in the comedy Flirting With Disaster which co-starred Ben Stiller, Patricia Arquette and Mary Tyler Moore and appeared along box-office heavyweights Morgan Freeman and Robert Duvall in asteroid disaster film Deep Impact. In 1998, she served as executive producer for There's No Fish Food In Heaven.

Leoni is married to X-Files star David Duchovny. The two first met at a Tonight Show guest audition in 1992 but the romance wasn't initiated until five years later. Shortly afterwards the couple married at Manhattan's Grace Church. They own a $3 million, four-bedroom home near Malibu and have a daughter named Madelaine West.
